FTO of the Year Award

It is that time of the year again when the NAFTO Executive Board begins the review and selection process for FTO of the Year.  NAFTO's FTO of the Year receives a paid trip (airfare, lodging and registration costs) to the 2012 NAFTO annual conference being held this June in Orlando Florida.  In addition, you will receive formal recognition at the annual banquet dinner which is held during the conference.

All interested candidates should visit NAFTO's web site to get all of the details for the application and review process.  I will outline just a few (you can't be a previous recipient of this award):

A candidate must demonstrate a commitment to the profession through exceptional performance in one or more of the following areas:

• Service - defined as exceptional or excellent service to your Agency / Department.
• Leadership - defined as having provided leadership in a particular task that represents an understanding and respect for accomplishment against challenges.
• Ambition - defined as an innovative or entrepreneurial mindset in terms of task accomplishment of critical analysis.
• Spirit - defined as a sense of being that embodies an enthusiasm for the purpose.
• Bravery / Heroism - defined as an act above and beyond the normal actions of an individual.

Nomination letters shall not exceed two pages in length, should address the basis for the rationale of the nomination in the particular categories.

Letters of Nomination must be received by the President (Kimber Williams) up to and including April 1st 2012 (this date has been extended).
